Dear Friends:
Born into an Isfahani family of weavers stretching back
seven generations, at the age of seven Mohammad Nooraee came
under the tutelage of a local master weaver, an esteemed
gentleman with a long white beard and a walking stick.
For his first lesson, to little Mohammad’s surprise, rather
than seating his pupil before a loom, the teacher told his
student to search the workshop for all its hidden gems and
ornament. After a weary day with fruitless results,
when asked what he found, the discouraged boy nervously
replied “nothing.” “The gems and jewelry are service,
service, service, Mohammad,” replied the master, “Now go
home and come back tomorrow for your second lesson.”
From that day forth service has been the bedrock of Mr.
Nooraee’s work ethic, and is the principle upon which Noor
Oriental Rugs was founded. In its twenty seven years
of existence, Noor Oriental Rugs Inc. has been committed to
service of its customers and the community.
A fine oriental rug is far more than a
decorative floor covering or an exceptional work of
craftsmanship; it can be a depiction of paradise itself,
inspiring us to dream of a better world. Mr. Nooraee
has always avowed that everyone deserves such a hope.
That is why on the very first day of business, after having
sold its first rug, Noor Oriental Rugs Inc. decided to give
away a second. That longing has inspired Mr. Nooraee
too, who believes that, like the weavers who slowly and
laboriously tie each knot toward paradise, we too can sew
together a better world. For this reason, since its
establishment, Noor Oriental Rugs Inc. has donated hundreds
of thousands of dollars worth of its woven treasures toward
several charitable causes. Now Mr. Nooraee invites you
