This stunning antique Qom is in practically mint condition.  The design of this rug is known as torreyhey, a pattern abstractly depicting the hair of married maidens.  Other noteworthy features include a double-crowned medallion and a liberal use of slimi—the seemingly ceaseless parade of interlocking curvilinear vines.  This Qom was originally woven as low pile rug by using very fine dense knots.
