This policy explains what personal information Noor Oriental Rugs, Inc. ("Noor Oriental Rugs", "we", "us") collects through noororientalrugs.com and when you contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain: we collect only what we need to answer you and serve you, and we never sell your information.
Who we are
Noor Oriental Rugs, Inc., 769 Concord Ave, Cambridge, MA 02138. Phone 617-868-6667, email info@noororientalrugs.com.
Information you give us
- Contact and consultation form: your name, email address, phone number, the type of request you choose, your message, and the page you sent it from.
- Email, phone and visits: whatever you choose to share when you email or call us or visit the showroom, including photos of your rug.
- When you do business with us (a purchase, cleaning, restoration, appraisal or donation): the details needed to provide the service, such as your address for pick-up or delivery, information about your rug, and payment and receipt records.
Information collected automatically
- No tracking cookies. This website does not set cookies and does not use advertising trackers or analytics tools.
- Server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when pages are requested, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. It is used to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Fonts and icons. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and icons from cdnjs (Cloudflare). Your browser contacts those services directly, so they receive your IP address and browser information under their own privacy policies.
- Maps. Our address links to Google Maps. Google only receives information if you click the link.
How we use your information
- To answer your enquiry and arrange appointments, evaluations, pick-ups and deliveries.
- To provide the services and purchases you ask for, and to keep business, tax and appraisal records.
- To coordinate a rug donation when you ask us to, including the documentation you request.
- To keep the website working and secure.
- To send news or offers only if you have asked to receive them. Every such email includes a way to unsubscribe.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that run our website and email: Formspree (delivers contact-form messages to our inbox), Vercel (website hosting), Microsoft 365 (our email), and, if you sign up for news, our email newsletter provider. They process information on our behalf to provide those services.
- With people you ask us to involve, for example a charity receiving a rug you donate.
- When required by law, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and customer and service records for as long as needed for the service and for our legal, tax and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below); we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
Your choices
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop sending you news and offers. Email info@noororientalrugs.com or call 617-868-6667. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
Security
The website is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we use reasonable measures to protect the information you give us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not send payment card numbers or other sensitive financial information through the contact form or by email.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the effective date above.
